Apple and Cranberry Crisp

A seasonal dish perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas, this recipe comes from Ann Nickerson who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

SERVES 8    

3 cups peeled chopped apples

2 cups fresh cranberries

2 tbsp flour

1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups oatmeal/muesli plus 1 tsp cinnamon (and some raisins if liked)
3/4 cup chopped nuts eg pecans
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1. Combine apples, cranberries and 2tbsp flour; toss to coat.
2. Add 1 cup sugar and mix.
3. Place in a 2 quart greased casserole dish.
4. Combine oatmeal/muesli, nuts, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar; add melted butter and mix.
5. Spoon over the fruit.
6. Bake uncovered at 175 for about 30 minutes.
